In early September 2014, I stumbled across what I thought was a marketing blog, but I didn’t find it very interesting. What I did find interesting was a sign up form in the sidebar which talked about free MLM skills videos — the same ones over in my sidebar there.
You see, I was desperate. The businesses that I hadn’t out and out failed in, I was barely breaking even. I took courses, I got coaching, I kept getting the same feedback over and over: you’re doing too much. But I wasn’t getting anything in return.
I had just come from a regional meeting with my MLM where I ran into the main speaker in the bathroom and I was in tears because I felt so ashamed that I was failing yet again. My upline had quit, my district manager had quit, I was two thousand dollars in the hole, was being bullied by some big sellers in my district, and I had no clue where to turn next.
This woman had given an inspiring talk and I promised her I would not quit (I had come to the meeting to get the freebies, try to maybe get some new idea to sell all the inventory my district manager had told me “would sell itself”, and then quit).
But once she left, I sat in a stall and bawled my eyes out. I still didn’t know what to do.
These videos were free and so I figured what the heck. Maybe I’ll learn something.
I wasn’t really able to grasp the skills in the videos (too much anxiety on my part), but I liked the guy doing them. He seemed easy-going, knew what he was doing, and all that. The videos seemed useful. I couldn’t figure out how he was making any money with these videos, but I figured there would be a hard sell sooner or later.
A couple weeks later I got an email from the blog owner about another set of videos — also free — which would help me do better with my business.
There’s nothing for sale, she said. No one will pressure you.
So I decided to watch — what did I have to lose? — and I was blown away. They talked about your true, golden self, and how cement had been put over you, and how you can get it off. They offered this course to help. It didn’t cost anything, you just had to apply.
I was like HELL YEAH.
You see, I’m not a dummy. I put two and two together and figured out that the common denominator in all my troubles was ME and if I didn’t change ME then all the rest was going down the same path I had gone down already.
Changing yourself is hard. Changing the blueprint for your life is really hard.
These guys make it so much easier.
If you’re kind of on the fence about it either you’re not ready or you’re just scared.
If you’re saying HELL YEAH then come on down! It has been totally worth it.
